KATO (Sekisui Kinzoku) is a Japanese model railway manufacturer founded in 1957, known for pioneering N gauge (1/150) in Japan. Since its founding, it has received much praise in and outside of Japan for its finely produced model trains, manufactured entirely in its own factory in Japan, their high quality and smooth performances. KATO has tried its hand not only on Japanese trains, but also American, European, and Asian ones, and through the long-standing trust it has received for its accomplishments, KATO has become a model railway manufacturer beloved by modelers worldwide.

Pursuing the Possibilities of Model Railroading
The model railway hobby is not something that ends with a purchase. Rather, that’s where it begins, offering many possibilities of what to do with it and how to enjoy it. For example, model trains can be customized to match personal memories or the local area in which the prototypes were active, or they can be put in dioramas with nostalgic sceneries. This makes model railroading worthy of being called the "king of hobbies". The KATO Kyoto Station Store was opened in 2016 as a concept store directly managed by KATO, filled with hospitality and ideas appropriate for the former capital Kyoto. It pursues the charm and possibilities of model railroading under the concept of “reaching the hearts of every one of our customers and offering them products valuable to them”. This store differs from the Hobby Center KATO in Tokyo, and carries not only regularly mass-produced KATO models, but also special customized variations of these products. It also offers limited edition products and the so-called Lead Car Series, which make perfect souvenirs.
We hope that our precision models, produced with care and attention, will remain with you in your memories of Japan.
鐵路模型并不是買完就結束的愛好。正是因爲這些小零件可以成爲個人的回憶、還可以把車輛加工模仿當地的車型，將它運行在充滿懷舊的景觀中等不同的玩法，因此鐵路模型被稱爲“愛好之王”。 KATO京都車站店以“如何才能提供貼近每位顧客内心的附加值產品”為理念。本店與2016年開業，是 KATO 的直營店，追求鐵路模型的魅力和可能性，充滿了與古都京都相稱的創意和熱情。本店和在東京的總部直營店又有所不同提供的不僅是KATO的普通批量生產品，重點是不問地區和年代的定制特別版產品。此外，我們還銷售非常適合作爲日本的紀念品的一系列先頭車。

Inside the Store
Within the glass cases surrounding the store entrance, KATO’s model trains are lined up as if to welcome you, with the interior lights shining brightly. The lower parts of the glass cases are decorated with elegant paper cutouts through which a warm light glows.
店內布置
店鋪入口的玻璃櫃裡，陳列著KATO的鐵路模型宛如在迎接著光臨的客人。店內點亮了燈光，讓模型整齊有序地排列在櫃內，而在櫃子底部使用了剪紙創造出優雅的燈光，輕輕地照亮腳下。從店内的觀景空間，可以觀看京都的傳統街景。這裡有許多只有在京都駅店才能購買的商品。

Head Car Series
The Head Car Series is a KATO Kyoto Station Store limited product line. They are not simply the ordinary head cars that are produced with care in our Sekisui Saitama Factory, but rather special variations of them with unique car numbers and details. They are very popular as souvenirs and to commemorate our customers’ Japan trip.

KATO京都車站店頭車系列可以在KATO京都駅店購買。在関水金属埼玉工廠精心製造的車輛並不是普通產品的一輛頭車，編號和細節設計與衆不同。它們作爲紀念品和旅行回憶非常受歡迎。
Small Locos for your memory in Kyoto
The locomotive's design with gold highlights and a prominent red number on the black car body is a limited-edition version of KATO's Pocket Line series. It comes with a passenger car set with one car in red, reminiscent of the red-blossomed plum trees at the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, on top which a silver dragon flies, and one in the green of Uji's famous matcha green tea upon which a gold idol is depicted. This set is popular as a souvenir from Kyoto and Japan.
京都伴手禮迷你蒸氣車組
KATO Pocket Line 系列中的KATO京都車站店限定的特别設計，黑色車身、金色裝飾帶和紅色數字很有吸引力。紅色車身圖案是龍，靈感來自北野天满宫的紅梅；綠色車身圖案是神像，靈感來自宇治的抹茶，每輛車各有各的金色和銀色的圖案。不管是作爲京都或日本的紀念品，它們同樣受歡迎。

Miniature Cap of the JR Kyoto Station Master
A miniature version of the conductor's cap that the JR West Kyoto Station master used to wear. It uses the same cloth and metal materials as the original cap. Have fun by putting it on display or on your dolls or stuffed animals!

Access from the ticket gates at Kyoto Station
Use the north-to-south free passage accessible from the west exit for the regular JR lines, the central exit for Shinkansen, and the Kintetsu Railway to reach the south elevators in the Kyoto Station building and go up to the 9th floor.
*This is the easiest way to access the store with a wheelchair.
Access from the central exit of regular JR lines
Use the escalator to the grand staircase, then use the escalator there to reach the 8th floor. Go left, then use the grand staircase to reach the 9th floor.
*Attention: The escalator at the grand staircase does not stop at the 9th floor.
The floor our store is located on is connected to the JR Kyoto Isetan floor, so you can also reach us through the 9th floor of JR Kyoto Isetan.

從自動扶梯上到大階梯，然後在8樓左側下到大階梯，再徒步走到9樓，這是最方便的路徑。
